- Wye Valley NHS Trust
"Our aim is to provide the quality of healthcare we would want for ourselves, our families and our friends."
The Trust was established in 1994 and was a first wave Private Finance Initiative project. Our new building was completed in 2003 with all services (Orthopaedic, A&E, General and Vascular Surgery, Urological, Dental and Plastic Surgery, ENT, General Medicine and Acute Age Care, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology and Ophthalmology) now consolidated on one site.
We serve a population of around 230,000 drawn from the areas of Herefordshire, Mid Powys and the borders of Gwent, Shropshire, and Worcestershire, and employee approximately 1,600 staff. Our range of staff benefits include; flexible working options, an excellent Occupational Health Service with complimentary therapies, free counselling, discounted local shopping and leisure facilities and career break schemes.
Hereford itself is a Cathedral City of outstanding natural beauty. In the summer months open-air plays and operas are performed, with numerous outdoor and sporting opportunities available (the River Wye is the only English River permitting canoeing only). Education is also well provided for with good state schools, a Sixth Form College and Technical and Arts Colleges.
