Consultant in Acute Medicine
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Acute Medicine at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Acute Medicine and Same Day Medical Assessment unit
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of 10 consultants and 5 Specialty doctors offering all aspects of an Acute Medical career could ask for. We have a dedicated Same Day Medical Assessment unit after securing £3 million in funding to allow one to deliver high quality same day medical care and improving patients journey and experience that has received commendation from NHS England.
Our AMU Department has 53 beds with a dedicated Short stay older persons unit and Specialty Ownership allowing patients to be seen by the right person right time.
We offer both Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching opportunities and our Trust’s Postgraduate Teaching is now the number one trust in the number one region.
We welcome applicants with special interests and those that may wish to work part time.
We are dedicated to developing a sustainable department delivering high quality care to our patients and allowing for work life balance.For new consultants the job plan for this post will include 2.5 SPAs for the first year.
