The successful applicant will work 10 PA’s with the opportunity to work part time/flexible working/additional PAs and across both sites. These are replacement posts due to the re-location of previous Consultants.

A full range of outpatient and day-case services are provided including general respiratory, specialist asthma and COPD clinics, sleep medicine including CPAP provision and review, lung cancer, ILD, Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis, respiratory nurse led initiatives and a further clinic for pleural diagnostic evaluation. This is attended by the respiratory physicians, dedicated thoracic radiologists, a thoracic surgeon, oncologists, a pathologist and specialist lung cancer nurses. Across both sites there are procedural lists including fibre optic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound and medical thoracoscopy is done at South Tyneside District Hospital. The department is well supported by comprehensive cardio-pulmonary diagnostic services and an excellent team of junior doctors, nursing staff and secretarial support.
