Applications are invited for a Consultant Dermatologist at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Dermatologist to join our busy, innovative and friendly team to enhance Dermatology services across South Somerset.
This is a new post for a Consultant Dermatologist based at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and reflects the increase in workload in both general Dermatology and the increasing demand for skin cancer management. The Dermatology department works closely with neighbouring departments in Bristol and Exeter. We access Medical and Clinical Oncology services via our SSMDT at Taunton. Consultant Plastic Surgeons attend the skin cancer MDT and undertake surgical lists and outpatient clinics weekly at Yeovil District Hospital.
About the department:
Yeovil District Hospitals’ Dermatology department is actively involved in national research trials, under the supervision of Dr Rachel Wachsmuth, and supported by dedicated research staff.
You will join our Dermatology team of 3 Consultants, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Nurse Specialists, 2 Nurse Specialist Trainees, 2 Hospital Practitioners and 1 Trainee Hospital Practitioner.
We currently provide a broad spectrum of outpatient activity including general adult and paediatric Dermatology and skin cancer services. We are closely supported by our Nurse Specialist team in the provision and monitoring of systemic therapies, including biological therapies and isotretinoin, and skin cancer diagnosis, support and follow up. Narrowband UVB phototherapy is provided at Yeovil District Hospital, and a local community hospital. PUVA and photodynamic therapy are available locally. We provide a busy patch testing service at the Yeovil site. We strongly encourage and support development of sub-specialty interests to augment our local service.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Dermatology via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date), CESR or European Community Rights.
For candidates who reside abroad you must have completed the necessary language test (IELTS / OET / NARIC) before applying to us. You must be able to satisfy the language test requirements of the UKVI remit.
We really value the impact that you as a Consultant will have on our patients and services; we therefore offer an enhanced benefits package (subject to criteria) which includes:
- Welcome to Yeovil payment.
- A generous relocation package.
- 10 hours of paid time for professional development every week (SPA).
- £700 personal budget for training and development every year.
