Consultants in Palliative Medicine

Two posts (6 to 10 PAs per post)

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Consultants in Palliative Medicine to join the specialist palliative care service within Wolverhampton, providing support to the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

These posts provide exciting opportunities to join a team of 6 consultants working in Wolverhampton and employed by the trust. The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Compton Care are working in close collaboration with health and social care partners to develop an Accountable Care System, enabling the most effective use of all of the available resources and removing unnecessary duplication.

Excellent integrated working relationships exist with other specialist teams at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and with local community services.

The successful applicants will work alongside the two consultants Palliative Medicine Consultants based at New Cross Hospital, who are part of a strong multi-disciplinary team committed to excellent patient care and continuous quality improvement, providing support and clinical advice throughout the trust.

The post holders will also join the Black Country Palliative Medicine on-call rota providing out-of-hours medical advice to health care professionals across the Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall health economies and on-call responsibility for inpatients at Compton Hall in Wolverhampton.

The post holders will need to be on the GMC Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview, have MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
