Honorary Senior lecturer/Reader and Consultant in Acute Medicine (2 posts).

Applications are invited for these new and strategically essential posts which will lead a programme of excellence in clinical service delivery and education for Acute medicine, the posts have been conceived jointly between the trust and Brighton and Sussex Medical school. It is expected that the successful applicants will be awarded an Honorary title at Clinical Senior Lecturer or above depending on the experience and CV.

The appointees will take a leading role in championing the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate Medical Education within the trust along with the delivery of Acute medicine. To facilitate this a 10 PA job plan is available inclusive of 2 PA for medical education, 2 SPA and 6 DCC.

This job is being advertised in conjunction with 3 other posts in various specialities (Respiratory, Diabetes and Endocrinology and Care of the Elderly) with the same educational focus. Brighton and Sussex medical school are expanding their intake and these posts are being designed to further enhance the educational experience that the trust provides to our medical students. With the dedicated focus on education we want to develop a programme that offers the very best experience for students and trainees.

Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register and must have a track record of providing both high quality clinical care and education with a clear desire to develop these further.

The clinical responsibilities of the post will be based at both our hospitals, Princess Royal Hospital, in Haywards Heath and the Royal Sussex County hospital in Brighton. Likewise the educational component would support developments at both of our hospital sites as well as at the medical school.
